CFA works to ensure Africa is a priority in U.S. foreign policy. We educate Americans about Africa’s importance, engage the African diaspora, and advocate for policies that support the continent’s development and global role. Our work centers on building strong U.S.-Africa relations rooted in respect, understanding, and shared interests.
TEXT / DESCRIPTION

CFA’s Diaspora Roundtable Discussions provide a space for thought leaders, policymakers, and community members from the African diaspora to engage in critical dialogue on U.S.-Africa policy. These sessions foster collaboration, elevate diaspora perspectives, and shape advocacy strategies that influence both domestic and international policy agendas.
Named in honor of the late U.S. Secretary of Commerce Ronald H. Brown, this signature series brings together diplomats, development experts, and private sector leaders to discuss pressing African affairs. The series promotes informed dialogue on trade, governance, and U.S.-Africa engagement, while honoring Brown’s legacy of advancing equity and economic opportunity.
Through direct engagement with African embassies in Washington, D.C., CFA builds bridges between the diaspora and African governments. These visits foster mutual understanding, create opportunities for youth diplomacy, and strengthen partnerships that support continental development and diaspora inclusion in policymaking.
